Better Buildings for Oregon

When taking into account how online permitting saves paper as well as gasoline and drive time, it should be considered a green building practice.

Oregon Building Codes Division (BCD) is pioneering online permitting with its e-Permitting program. The ePermitting site is the nation’s first electronic statewide building permit system and enables customers to access building department services from multiple cities and counties at a single website.

Recently, BCD’s ePermitting website, BuildingPermits.Oregon.gov, won the Government to Business Award from the Center for Digital Government as part of its 2011 Digital Government Achievement Awards Program.
